Brian Perry merges diverse experiences in political campaigning, business and message development, and strategic communication. Perry has assisted clients in the areas of energy, healthcare, telecommunications, marine resources, aerospace, tobacco, the retail industry, finance and bonds, engineering and civil litigation reform, among others. He specializes in grassroots and grasstops advocacy and engagement and political research. He also works with clients for crisis management communication consulting and association leadership.

In 2012, Perry was named one of the top ten political influencers in Mississippi by Campaigns & Elections Magazine. The Washington Post named Perry one of Mississippi’s top politicos to follow on Twitter. He created one of Mississippi’s go-to online political resources Perry writes a political column for the Madison County Journal which is syndicated in newspapers around the state.

Before joining Capstone, Perry served on the staff of Congressman Chip Pickering for five years as Communication Director where his policy portfolio included government reform and election measures, religious liberty, education, and veterans' issues. Perry served as spokesman for Governor Haley Barbour’s reelection campaign and has managed or consulted on Mississippi campaigns for governor, supreme court, attorney general, state senate, and a number of county and municipal elections. He is a former political director for the Mississippi Republican Party, former communications director for the Mississippi Center for Public Policy and former Director of Development for his alma mater, Belhaven University.

Perry has worked extensively on judicial policy and campaigns in Mississippi with experience on both the campaign side as well as issue advocacy and independent expenditures. Perry researched and served as ghost writer and editor for two books by retired U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Charles W. Pickering, Sr.: Supreme Chaos: The Politics of Judicial Confirmation & the Culture War (Stroud Hall: 2006) and A Price Too High: The Judiciary in Jeopardy (Stroud Hall: 2007).

Perry has appeared on Fox News; National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition”; and as a frequent guest on Super-Talk Mississippi and other Mississippi radio programs. He has appeared in national publications including The Washington Times, Roll Call, National Journal, Congressional Quarterly, The Hill, as well as local publications and broadcast groups as a source on Mississippi policy and politics.

As a volunteer, Perry performed press advance work for President George W. Bush in Mississippi in 2002, led a volunteer 72-hour taskforce in Florida for Bush’s 2004 re-election, and worked the Iowa Caucuses for Mitt Romney in 2012. He served on the Board of Directors for Leadership Greater Jackson and is an affiliate member of the Mississippi Press Association.
